ABSTRACT
Local Anesthesia forms one of the pillars of clinical pediatric dentistry. Even though a painless treatment can be delivered, the effect of anesthesia can persist even after the treatment. This article discusses those agents that effectively antagonise the effects of local anesthesia, thereby reducing its adverse post-treatment effects.
HIGHLIGHTS
Local anesthesia reversal agents are pharmacological agents used to counteract the effects of local anesthetics, allowing for a quicker return of sensation and function at the site of administration.
These agents work by accelerating the metabolism or blocking the action of the local anesthetic, helping to reverse the numbness and restore normal sensation.
